My Story
A graduate of Texas Southern University with a degree in journalism, Jelando spent years as a member of the award-winning TSU Jazz Ensemble. It was there and many other venues where he developed styles in jazz, rhythm & blues, latin, country and gospel music.
Those skills have led to Jelando laying down grooves with such artists as George Duke, Marion Meadows, Kim Waters, Bobby Lyle, Steve Cole, Melba Moore, Hubert Laws, Peter White, Kirk Whalum, Bob James, Jonathan Butler, Najee, Bob Baldwin, Patrice Rushen, Michael Henderson, Cherelle, Gail Jhonson (musical director for Norman Brown), Karen Briggs, Ronnie Laws, Eric Darius, Tom Braxton, Althea Rene, Kyle Turner, and many others.

Through his music, listeners can look forward to a musical journey that will lift their spirits while the groove captures their souls. It's what Jelando lives for: making music that makes a difference in the lives of every listener. "For me, it's not about playing an instrument, but BEING an instrument, used by God to bring joy and encouragement through this powerful median called music."
